Greenhouse lighting
The greenhouse industry is one of the engines that powers the Dutch economy. It employs more than 100.000 people, working in production (40.000) and in the associated industrial and trade suppliers departments. 75-80% of this production is exported resulting in annual revenues of €5 to €6 billion. However, this comes at a high cost to the farmers, the environment and residents in surrounding areas.
The LUUMS Greenhouse Serie has been developed for greenhouses, with an unique color recepts for optimal lighting. You will be surprised of the results of this compact but powerful system with a lower energy consumption compared to other assimilation systems. The light is directly absorbed and no light reflection means maximum grow results. LUUMS Grow lights are easy to combine with solar applications.
The main light source used to date is based on high pressure sodium which is old technology, it causes much (unnecessary) heat, light pollution and consumes a great deal of energy.
A substitute had to be designed. With its expert knowledge, LUUMS designed a LED assimilation luminaire which, compared to conventional solutions, is a winner at all fronts.

Tuesday 1 October 2008 - Interact Holdings Group, Inc. becomes the exclusive distributor of LUUMS LED product lines in the United States. 
Tuesday 6 januari 2009 - LUUMS placed a testing set-up of 2 different Streetlight models in Nigeria. 
Luums made a adjustment in the streetlight and growlight armatures which results in 30% more light output.
